In association with the information that you had about Isaac Newton Blagrave, I have some more on the Madison County James Henry and Hiram Baker Blagrave names. I hope it helps you, as much as I hope you can help me.

Could you explain what you have on the Indiana to Cedar Bayou, Texas Blagrave family that made the trek and whom had descendants, which then (eventually) settled in Madison County, Texas. I am from that portion of the Blagrave name lineage. However, it seems that (perhaps), more than one family of Blagraves made this trek. None the less, I think I am convinced this information is key to discovering my great-great grandfather's name.

I was told my great-grandfather's family settled in Cedar Bayou, Texas. This was told me by my Aunt Jean. She is the one who told me most of the information I have about my grand father's (her adopted father), family.

My great grandfather was named James Henry Blagrave. One of his brothers' was called Uncle Tom (I'm told however his first name was actually Oscar). My great grandfather had a son whom they named Henry. I know that my grandfather had a brother and a cousin named Henry. They apparently are descended from the Indiana-to-Texas Blagrave family.

My grandfather was Elbert Blagrave (no middle name as far as I know). My Great Uncles (from James Henry Blagrave) and my grandfather's (Elbert's) brothers were Henry, Arthur (died at age 16. yellow fever), and Luther (not much known). My grand father had 3 sisters (Louella Blagrave-Casey m Robert Casey, Minnie Mae Blagrave-Casey m. Ed Casey (married brothers) and Rosa Blagrave-Dean; all lived in Madison County, TX).

My great grandfather (James Henry Blagrave) had at least one and possible as many as 5 siblings. But I know he had a brother Tom. Somebody in the family told me that Tom was not an actual name. They said he was named Oscar. Also the person who told me this (Elisabeth (Beth)Blagrave) said also said that her husband (R Ashley Blagrave) was the son of Ruben Blagrave, who was the son of Ruble. Ruble was the son of Hiram B Blagrave. Ruben was said to have been my grandfather's double-first cousin. Apparently since James Henry Blagrave (my great grandfather) married Mary Annie Harrison, Ruble could be his brother, who may have also married another Harrison. THis I am not sure of though. Besides I do not know what Mary Annie Harrison Blagrave's (my paternal great grandmother's) sister's name was. So, I cannot be sure of this part at all.

I ,truely, would like any information available on this family. I am searching for the name of my great-great grandfather. I have an idea that he may have been a civil war soldier. I do not know. Nobody ever mentioned him. I do believe, however that, If I can identify my great-great grandfather, the rest is not too difficult- based on what information I have already seen. For some reason his son (James Henry Blagrave) nor his grandson (Elbert Blagrave) never talked about him, according to all I have found and according to all those, whom knew both Elbert and his father James Henry Blagrave.

Help me if you can, Please.

Thank You!
