Alexander Blaikie-Alexander Cameron of Pictou, NS, relationship

I am researching the relationship between the Rev. Alexander Blaikie of Pictou, Nova Scotia, and his direct ancester, Alexander Cameron.

Accoding to J.P. MacPhie, in his book, "Pictonians at home and abroad : sketches of professional men and women of Pictou County, its history and institutions," Alexander Blaikie is a direct descendant of Alexander Cameron, but the book doesn't explain exactly how.

Rev. Alexander Blaikie was born in 1804 and died in 1885. After travelling in the minstry for a time, he settled in Boston, started a Presbyterian Ministry there, and wrote several books on religion. He was born in Pictou, Nova Scotia.

Alexander Cameron was on the ship Hector in 1773 which came to Pictou, NS.

I am trying to find the link between Alexander Cameron and Alexander Blaikie. If you have any information, please share it with me.

Thank you.
