Dear Paula

Many thanks for responding to my message board message. This looks exciting for me because (1) you already added to my information and (2) if I've worked out the thing correctly, youi and I are fifth cousins.

1.
I had no record of your Mary Blaikie. I do, however, have a record of John Blaikie 1789 - 1853 who married Jane Gibb 1792 - 1870. Is Mary a daughter of this couple? Or do you have another version of truth? (Or was there a second marriage?)

2.
Assuming I can work out your E identity from the message board, I should like to send you a little report showing what I reckon to know of the descendants of John Blaikie 1756 - 1826, probably using an .rtf format file which can be read by any mainstream word processing program. Would that be of interest?

3.
I am hopeful (ever hopeful) that you may be willing and able to do something similar in return, filling in a few more dates and places to the data you already sent me. Did your branch stay in Scotland? Or move to England? Or USA? Or RSA? Or none of the above...

Anyhow, I'll set to preparing that report.

Thanks again for making contact. This definitely is exciting.

Best wishes

Charles Hillman
