Question, please. Do you have proof that "Sam" Blailock's name was legally "Eldridge". If so, I would like to know because all of us Blailocks searching high and low for Henry Eldridge Blaylock/Blailock are doing so on a relative's word that Henry's middle name was indeed "Eldridge". As I am sure you know by now, there are literally hundreds of Henry Bla/Blay in the 1800s.....making it very difficult to search. So if I had proof that your "Sam" was legally "Eldridge", then I would be more inclined to believe that Henry's middle name was indeed "Eldridge". On a NC census, there is an "Aldridge" family living near a "Blaelock" family. And I have often wondered if two of their children married....and names got mispelled or changed into Eldridge Blaylock. Thanks, L. Blailock Swinney firstname.lastname@example.org
