I am looking for information on the Blakes of Connecticut. I have no indea of their origination. I believe the surname Blake could be Irish or English.
In 1900 CT census:
Frederick E. Blake b. Dec 1882 CT dry goods clerk
Carrie B. Blake b. Sep 1859 CT
Eugene M. Blake b. Dec 1882 CT
In 1930 Hamden, CT census:
Eugene M. Blake, age 47 physician, private practice
Mary, wife, age 39 b. W. Virginia
Carabelle, daughter, age 7 b. CT
Mennie Jarvis servant, age 48 b. Virginia
Josephine Candee, age 54 child's nurse b. CT
Eugene M. Blake's first wife died and he later married R. K. Sexton, date unknown. This information is of particular interest to me as well.
I believe that Eugene was a well-respected eye surgeon in the New Haven area, but can find no records of this.
