Blake's Scouts, CSA
Posted by: Jethro Lilley (ID *****1775) Date: November 06, 2008 at 14:19:29

Rummaging through the Rawls Library in Coutland, Southampton Co., Va. I came across 4 Blakes... John, T.R., J.F., and S.D. These boys were in Blake's Scouts, CSA. All these Blakes were Virginian. I can find nothing on Blake's Scouts, CSA except that it was a unit unaffiliated with any state, but was organized by the Confederate Government in Richmond. Does anyone know of Blake's Scouts CSA? All I can find out is that it existed as a unit. Nothing else. I found one member of this unit buried in La. in 1883. Name... Upshaw.
Thanks, Jethro.
