James & Thomas blakemore, Sumner TN 1809
I am trying to decipher a court case from Andrew Jackson's papers which is Jackson & John Hutchings v Thomas Blakemore, county court minutes, Sumner Co, Mar 25,1809.It looks like Thomas cosigned debt and the paper was sold a couple of times & Jackson ended up with it and sued for collection. No response from Blakemore. This may be completely wrong - it's awfully hard to read. Apparently there was an earlier related proceeding before the General Assembly. Have any Tenn Blakemore researchers looked at this?I thought that perhaps the earlier proceeding mentioned might say something about the relationship between Thomas & James.I know there is a James in Tenn with a Thomas father, but I am still hoping for an unaccounted Thomas Blakemore brother about that age. My Thomas Blakemore went to N GA, joined War of 1812 & married soon after 1809, died in Ala 1845.
