Robert Jacob Blakeney is buried at the Mt. Zion Baptist church cemetary. It is located about 4 miles north of Taylorsville just off County Rd. 19. Jacob has a confederate tombstone for his marker. The dates on his marker are Born: Feb. 01, 1825 Died: Dec. 05, 1889. His wife, Elizabeth Ann (Eliza) Jernigan, is also buried there. Jacob served in the Civil War between 1961 and 1965. He was in Johnstons's Co. Miss. Inf. Jacob and Eliza had 13 children. They are; Steven Erasmus, James Marion, Terrie, Benjamin, Matilda, Ellen Louise, Lucy ann, Robert James,(my g grandfather)Mary, Martha ann, Albert, Ransom Lafayette, & Floyd.
