Hi, I am responding to your post on Genforum. My history is as follows;
My g.g.g.g.g.grandfather was John Blakeney of PA. He had three sons if Grace Glaspie is correct in most of her work in, "The Blakeney Kith and Kin", located in the Illiana Gen. & Historical Soc., in Vermilion County, IL.
She has some things messed up in her book but I have learned that my g.g.g.g.grandfather's name was Hugh Blakeney that married Ann Williams in Bourbon Co. KY.,
11/Jan/1819. She relates in her work, that William Blakeney married Ann Williams. Since I have a letter writen by Hugh and Ann's grandchild, that his grandfather's name was Hugh, I think that I believe him.
Anyway, Hugh had a son named John Williams Blakeney that moved to Oregon in 1852. This John was my g.g.g. grandfather. He married Nancy Agnes Phelps daughter of Jonathan Phelps and Sarah (Sally) Gowen.
