Greg Blakeney checking in

Hi, I am Gregory Blakeney. I live in Las Vegas, but was born and raised in the New Orleans area.

My father is James Herbert Blakeney, son of Tommy Blakeney Sr. He has a brother, Tommy Blakeney Jr., and two sisters - Sylvia Blakeney and Beverly Blakeney.

Dad's family is from Mobile, AL. Tillman's corner to be more specific if I remember correctly. He moved with his family to New Orleans and met my mother, Cathy Ann Fallon, in High School. He finished school, and stayed in LA when his family went back to Mobile. Joined the USMC in '68 I believe and was set to go to Vietnam when his orders changed less than 2 weeks before his deployment.

He was sent to Moffat Field in CA where me and mom joined him in Sunnyvale. My sister was born in CA in May of 1972, Mellisa Blakeney, and we moved back to New Orleans in '72 I believe.

When I was 6 we moved to Houma, LA. Nine years later my youngest sister was born, Amanda Fallon Blakeney.

I have a wife, Sheri, of 15 years. One daughter from a previous relationship, Megan Ford born in 1988, who lives in Pontchatoula, LA, and Emily Blakeney born in 1995.

Just checking in to see what I can find on our family name.

Unfortunately our immediate family name ends with me as we have no plans to have any other children, and I doubt my Uncle will either.
