Research done by Ken BROWN (1924-1985)shows Mary ATKINSON was the 1st wife of Thomas BLAKENEY (son of Capt. John) and the mother of Jane BLAKENEY Lucy (1778SC-1848AL). Jane BLAKENEY Lucy named her first child Mary. [Susan LOWRY would have been 12 when Jane was born].
In 1790 there are two females living with Thomas (Susan would have been 24 and Jane 12.)
I believe that Mary ATKINSON died and Thomas married 2nd Susanna LOWRY. Jane has already married Cadwallader LUCY by the 1800 Census and Thomas has a wife (age 26-44 =1756-1774). I believe the wife in 1800 is Susan but NOT his 1st wife (as her Stone reads). Susan's father Robert LOWRY (1730-1800)is buried in Mount Croghan (Chesterfield Co., SC).
I believe immediately after Susan's death in early 1807, Thomas moved to Montgomery Co., TN. On May 27, 1807 ELLIOTT deeded 100 acres to Thomas... more land from ROSS to Thomas Sept 1807.
I would LOVE to have a copy of the Will of Robert LOWERY which you mention that shows Susan had NO children.
