I just obtained the immigration record (passenger list) of my great-grandparents Hermann & Mathilde (Rogenbach) Blank, who came to the US from Bremen, Germany in May 1890 (supposedly originally from Friedrichshafen, Baden-Wurtemburg). Traveling with them was a Franz Blank, age 22, so born abt 1868 in Germany. I assume he was Herman's brother (Herman was 29 at the time). I have attempted to trace Franz in the later censuses with little luck. I did find a Franz or Frank Blank in St Clair county, Michigan in 1910 and 1910, married to Martha, children Hubert, Ruben, Benjamin, and Lila born 1900-1910ish, but Franz/Frank claims an immigration date of 1882. For what it's worth, Herman, in 1920, also claimed an immig. year of 1882 instead of 1890 - odd. I'm wondering if anybody is working on the St Clair line and can corroborate whether Frank/Franz of St Clair is Herman's brother or not.
Herman & Matilda went first to Chicago and then settled around Germantown/Lyndon Station/Elroy in Juneau co, Wisconsin. If there are any other descendants of them, I'd love to hear from them. Their children were Otto (1885), Herman Martin Jr (1887), Louise (1893), Agnes Josephine (1898; my grandmother), John (1902). I know some of my mother's cousins, descendants of this family, were named Doris Southworth, Laverne Greenwood, Ruth Riordan, Louise Mohns.
