So we are cemetery cousins, if nothing else. I am not sure if my Blanks came from Baden (northern Germany) or Baden-Baden (southern Germany). Census and Death records indicate Baden or Prussia or Germany. Our only indication that Rudolf Blank may have come from Baden-Baden is that family has always talked of our German ancestors as coming from the Alscaic Lorraine area. Unfortunately, we don't know if that is the Blank side, or the Schelski side. We don't know anything about Rudolf Blank's ancestry. I don't even know where he is buried, but his wife Christle (Christina) is buried in Crown Hill Cemetery along with many of her Schelski family. I do know that a Robert Blodau signed the christening papers for their daughter Regina Blank in 1895. He and his wife Ella were also buried in Crown Hill Cemetery. They could be family friends or perhaps related in some way. I wish I could be of more help. Can you tell me anything more of your Blanks - perhaps when they immigrated, who your great grandparents were and their children, any family friends, etc.
