Blattner Family Genealogy Forum
Hi, I'm trying to find information on the Blattners who came to Illinois in the 1840s.
My grgrgrgrGrandparents were John and Therese Blattner who came to America in June 1844 and by the 1850 census settled in Rich Twp., Cook County, Illinois. They came aboard a ship called the Iowa. They came with their children, Franz(Frank), Maria, and Therese. Also with them was another John Blattner(John's uncle I'm gussing) and his wife Barbara. The children they had with them were Barbara, Agatha, Michael, Eva, Magdalen, all of whom are also in the 1850 census for Rich Twp., Cook Co., Illinois (There are girls in the census the proper ages for the younger Barbara and Agatha but the names might have been nicknames or simple mistakes, otherwise the other names are all the same and right ages. The Thereses in my branch were both listed as Clarissa, it looks like, prehaps mistakes due to accents). If anyone thinks our Blattner familys might be related, please let me know, I am trying to find out infor on the family before they came over.
