Mary Blenkhorn was my grandfather's grandmother too. She and Edward had several children. I am decended from daughter Dorothy, who went on to marry William Thirnbeck Ellwood, their son Thomas was my maternal grandfather and they moved to Staveley.

Edward Blenkthorn, Mary's husband, farmer at Thorny Slack, Skelsmergh is shown as born at Orton on the 1851 census.
I found his father John's Will at the Lancashire Record Office today. John died 1818 and various family members including Edward are mentioned. Also his wife Nanny(?). Amongst other things John was proud of a cup awarded for a prize ram!
