All branches Blevins family
Does this story fit into your family history? My grandfather, John (jack) Pascal Blevins was born May 10, 1863.The death certificate lists Snowhill, Green, Ky. and lists parents as unknown. The place of birth may be open to question. He was the youngest of several children. At some point in time, he crossed the Cuberland Gap, to where and from where, we can't say for sure.If he grew up in Ky., which we have always understood, Ky. may not be his place of birth. When he was young, his parents were killed in a raid by union or federal troups. It is our understanding that the children survived but were separated and he, at least, lost track of his siblings.Whether Blevins was his last name or the name of his adoptive parents, we are unsure. In April of 1887, he was married to a Julia D. Montgomery. We think in Green County, Ky.They had two children, Guy and Montgomery.Guy died young and Monty died without issue. In 1895, the couple moved to Lyons, Ks. where Julia died in 1903 from Cancer.Jack married Theda Lyon in 1907 and had Aunt Ruth in 1910 and Mom in 1914.Grandpa Jack had a cousin, Lizzie Sublette (married name) who lived in Camblesville, Ky. in the thirties. If these facts ring a bell with anyone, We would love to here from you.Thank you, Judi Crockett
