Peggy Lou Cullop Blevins, 77, of Marion, VA, went to be
with Jesus Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Francis Marion
Manor, Marion, VA, after a long and courageous battle with
She was born in Washington Co VA, February 24, 1934, to
the late William Edward and Lillie Belle Cullop. Peggy was
a member of Grosses Creek Baptist Church and the VFW
Womens Auxiliary. She was retired from Southwestern Mental
Health Institute in Marion, VA, after 31 years of service.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by
her husband, Sammy L. Blevins.
Peggy is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Elden
and Pam Blevins, of Telford, TN; two daughters and sons-in-
law, Debbie Jones and Stan Djukovich, and Kristi and Bobby
Widener, all of Marion, VA; foster daughter, whom she
loved like a daughter, Dawn Sheets, of Chilhowie, VA; six
grandchildren, Katie, Trevor and Lucas Widener and Justin
Jones, all of Marion, VA, and Jonathan and Mark Blevins,
of Johnson City, TA; two great-grandchildren, Skylar and
Kasi; three sisters and brothers-in-law, her twin, Betty
Sue and Jay Testerman, of Bristol, VA, Edna and Leonard
Creasy, of Glade Spring, VA, and Bonnie Wright, of
Covington, VA; two brothers and sister-in-law, Gail E. and
MaryAnn Cullop, of Beaver, WV, and Joseph Cullop, of
Marion, VA; several nieces and nephews, very special niece,
Carol Rasnake, of Bristol, VA; and special friend, Betty
Childress, of Marion, VA.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 19, 2011,
from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 20, 2011,
at 11 a.m., at Seaver-Brown Chapel, with Reverend Neville
Mozingo and Reverend Mike Sage officiating.
Burial will follow in Grosses Creek Cemetery.
