I have not heard of any documented connection between the Blinn's of Nova Scotia and Peter Blin of Wethersfield, CT and his descendents. One of Peter's sons, James, was a ship's captain out of Boston who traded regularly along the coast up into Canada. James died in Annapolis Royal, NS on 27 May 1731 but is buried in the Granary Burying Ground in Boston.
According to web sites such as http://www.blupete.com/Genealogy/Blinn.htmhttp://www.blupete.com/Genealogy/Blinn.htm, Etienne Blinn did not arrive in the New World until 1780 while Peter Blin is recorded in Wethersfield land records as early as 1679.
I would be interested in any data you have about a possible connection between the two families.
