Information taken from EVBlomfield's pedigree of Blomfield printed 1948 titled A Suffolk Family. Captain Thomas Blomfield married 3 times. Mathilda was the only child of this marriage and she did marry John Stanford who was the widower of her grandmother,Mary Blomfield,mother of Capt.T.B.[Mary's seems to have kept her maiden name though she also married 3 times. John Stanford appears on this family tree twice; as the 3rd husband of Mary [Mathilda's grandmother]; Mary was his first wife; John Stanford married three times too. The dates of his birth and death match. Captain T's second marriage to Mary Manning had issue of 5 children, one of them being Thomas Valentine who is my ancester. T.V.B. went to Australia with his regiment as a young man and settled there. Mary's father was Barrington Blomfield, rector of Baddingham in Suffolk. Barrington's parents were Barnaby and Elizabeth. Barnaby's parents were Stephen Blomvile [Blomfield] and Elizabeth [her father was Henry Barrington]. I have been to see Stephen and Elizabeth's tomb at Stonham Asphal near to the church. This Tree I am quoting is Blomfield of Mowness origin Sonham Aspal.
