Hi Rebecca-
Here is my line:

Laura Bloyd b. 1886 MO
John A. Bloyd b. 1853 MO + Nancy Morris b. 1862 IN
James Bloyd b. 1813 + Margaret Ratliff b. 1827 KY
John Bloyd Jr. b. 1780 MD + Jemima Ward b. 1786 KY
John Bloyd Sr. + Mary ? (possibly Dummer or McCubbin)

In the Bloyd Book, By Edna Bloyd Nichols, it is stated that John Bloyd Sr. was a sea captain and gave it up for farming. It also says:

"John Bloyd and his wife moved from MD to NC and then to SC and finally to Green Co., KY about the same time as William Bloyd was making this same migration. William and John owned adjoining farms in Rockingham Co., NC in 1792. William was in Green Co., KY by the Fall of 1805 and John was there by 1806. They both settled on Little Brush Creek where the settlement of Bloyd, KY was latter established. In this area was located the Bloyd Post Office, Bloyd's Bluff School, and Bloyd's Bluff cemetery. John and Mary left Green CO., KY in the Spring of 1831 to settle in Hancock County, Illinois."

I am continuing to work on the origins of the John Bloyd Sr. family.
