Loren Matthias Blystone (b.8/23/1837, d. 3/27/1921)
married 8/22/1861
Elizabeth Ann Alward (b. 2/9/1839, d. 8/14/1926) (these are my gg-grandparents)
Their 5th Child was Lyman Willard (not Lynn Willard as erroneously reported in several geneologiesy) (b. 12/3/1873, d. 7/1/1943)
married 12/27/1893
Margaret (Maggie) Anna Peters (b. 5/13/1875, d. 5/2/1926) There were fourteen children born to this marriage:
Loren Otto 4/28/1894-11/1/1973 Lest you think that Maggie was pregnant before marriage, I have it on the authority of the great aunts that Otto was born prematurely and was diapered with an handkerchief, kept on the warming shelf of the kitchen stove and fed with an eyedropper. These relics survived for quite a while, but were lost in later years. Otto survived with a heart murmur which was enough to get him rejected for service in WWI. Emmett did go into the Army, but the war ended before he made it to France.
Wilma Ernestine 7/9/1895-2/10/1962
Emmett Edward 10/25/1896-5/4/1978
Edith Abbie 7/19/1898-10/29/1944
Gordon Leroy 3/4/1900-3/31/1981
Rodney Ellsworth 1/25/1902-12/19/1956 (my grandfather)
Mildred Angie 1/25/1904-8/4/1949
Russell Ardell 5/6/1909-8/17/1989
Gladys Echo 3/26/11-8/99
Zelda Lucille 2/20/1913-7/24/1958
Virgil Lawrence 11/8/1914-9/14/1990
Norabelle Quinevere 8/17/1916-2/17/1974
Verla Althea 1/1/1918-1991
Floyd Willard 7/14/1920 (died at birth)
I have much more information about this family as they are my great aunts and uncles. There are more than 600 living descendents of Lyman Willard & Maggie Anna Blystone as of our last reunion (August 8, 1999).

Also, Child #6 Ernest Lynn Blystone and his three sons died in the flu epidemic in 1920. A daughter Blanche survived and was raised by Dean Cole. Addie, his wife, was committed to a mental institution. Pond Worden was the administrator of Ernest's estate.

Elizabeth Alward was the daughter of Luther Alward and Emiline Payne. The house before which their Loren & Elizabeth's wedding and 50th wedding anniversary photographs were taken is still standing at Blystone Junction (so named because there was a trolley line junction there)east of Cambridge Springs, PA near the Alward Cider Mill. Several Alwards still live in the Cambridge Springs area. I also have more information on Emaline Payne's ancestry.
