My family also comes from Pickering, North Yorkshire,
Robert Boak born abt 1809-1811, I believe he married
Harriet Hare in 1834 and emigrated to Canada after that. I have often believed his father's name was William as Roberot named his first-born son William, b 1837.
There is also a Thomas Boak b 1801 that settled in Cornwall, Ontario who had sons naemd William, John and James that I believe were related.
