Your quick answer was appreciated. We would like to know the source of your information? We have gotten some of our information from the IGI records; however, there seems to be no direct connection with William or Janet. The born dates of the children seem to fall in line. The McPhun family is my mother's maiden name. Her father's names was William McPhun, Jr. and her grandfather's name was William McPhun.Hugh & Margaret Boak were William's mother and father, but we have no confirmation of this. The ROBERT BOAK McPHUN (born 1849- 1850)was born in Chile. His father was William and he sailed to Chile with his two brothers, Robert & Donald on their ship the "Esperanza".At least, William had his wife with him.
We have registrations records stating William was a naturalized U.S. citizen (likely in San Francisco) but much was destroyed during the 1906 earthquacke. We know that ROBERT BOAK McPHUN (brother of William, Sr.) went to New Zealand.
In November 1999 we visited my cousins in New Zealand who are descendents of ROBERT BOAK McPHUN.It was great!Got no new info!!Relatives, of course, but now news in the 1800s.
