Do you have a Robert Boak in your history? He was born about 1829 in Rothbury. His father was apparently also called Robert and he was a farmer.
In the 1851 census Robert (junior) was shown aged 22, a grocer's assistant born Rothbury living at 8 Forth Terrace, St Nicholas parish, Newcastle upon Tyne.
I have a lot on the Boaks in the Penrith to Carlisle area in Cumberland in the 18th century if you are interested.
