Looking for information on John Boak, born 1826 in Kirkland, Cumberland Co, England. John Boak emigrated to Australia about the time of the gold rush there in 1849. He went to Ballarat a city north of Melbourne which was the center of the activity. He married and had a family which we know from correspondence he had with Thomas, his brother, in the late 1870s and early 80s concerning his inheritance, or alleged inheritance.
