hello my name is Glennis Radovic, and like you I have a Boake ancestor and is somehow connected to the book by Dorothy Boake Panzer called the Beech Tree
My connection is
WILLIAM CARTER born 1758-1829 DUBLIN he married a Abigail Boake in 1778 in Ireland
They had a son named Francis Boake Carter born 1780 she died a few weeks after he was born in the Boakes family home.
Dr Francis Boake Carter married twice first marriage was to Abigail Johnson his cousin, her Mother was Jane Boake Abigail Carter went to America with her children when Dr Francis Boake Carter remarried Mary O'Farrell I am a descendant of Alfred Boake Carter who came to Australia and married over here his brother Harold M Carter came to Australia but went back to New York and a lady in America
sent me a photo of Harold Marlborough Carter taken in Shanghai don't know whether on his way to Australia or on the return voyage.
Harold M Carter age 25 July 1859 arrived in Australia
on a ship named the Royal Charter he was born in Ireland 1834 my great grand father Alfred Boake Carter was born in 1836 haven't been able to find his entery into Australia yet.

Don't know if you know but there is a book also at the Philadphia Historical Society on the Boake Carter
but have a call number on the Beech Tree maybe you will be able to trace it at your local library that is what I am to try CALL NO. CS71 B63x
