Hi Tom,
I would be very grateful if you could look up my Bock relative.
His name is Henry (?Fred) Bock bn June 15, 1839 in Holstein Germany. (Hamburg/Schleswig possibly) (have conflicting information) on the census I found him on it says Holstein.
He served supposedly four years in German Merchant Marines he was only 13 yrs old when he joined.Married in Germany but his wife died.Headed to America after 1856 and joined the Union Army during the Civil War.When they found out that he was a machinist Mate they moved him to the Navy.He served on the U.S.S. Kersage out of NY or Boston.Married a 2nd woman named Agnes Otto who's parents I do not know of, but she also died after having at least 3 children. Then 3rd married a girl of a family friend named Wilhelminia Boltz bn March 27, 1855, Berlin/Hamburg, Germany and had 13 children with her.
Her parents were:
Katherine Nestuhr, bn August 27, 1829, Ingleboe, Deutchland, Germany and(Max) Boltz, bn February 23, 1829, Ingleboe, Deutchland, Germany. Some of the names in the family were Augusta Bertha, Sophia, Charles, Emma Francene, Rudolph Wayne, Lena/Leona, Harry F., Rhoda, William, Florence, Roy, Rolland.
Any help would be great!
Thanks,
Terry
