Well, this guy doesn't seem to have a wife Dorothy, and I don't know where your John Paul Botkin lived. But passing this along in case you can make it fit in your line. I don't know who this guy's parents are. Appears he was born about 1897.

Clark County Obituary, Springfield Daily News, Monday, September 24, 1956, p. 2
Funeral services will be conducted in the Woodyard funeral home, 255 E. State st., Columbus, at 1 p.m. Wednesday for John Paul (Red) BOTKIN, 59, former Springfielder who died Sunday in Mt. Carmel Hospital, Columbus. Mr. BOTKINS, who once was active in semi-pro football and basketball here, was a graduate of Springfield High School and Denison University. He was sales manager of the Filter Queen Corp. of Chicago, and formerly was a branch manager for Airway Branches, Inc., Toledo. He lived at 58 N. Huron av. In Columbus, and had been a Columbus resident the past 11 years. Death came unexpectedly. He was stricken suddenly, apparently by a heart attack, shortly before he entered the hospital. Survivors include his widow, Bonita; a daughter, Miss Patricia Jeanne BOTKIN, at home; a brother, Arthur M. BOTKIN of Winchester, Ind., an two sisters, Mrs. Margaret L. BENTON and Miss Martha J. BOTKIN, both of Richmond, Ind.
