I am interested in James as well. Have an ancestor Cynthia/Syntha Bodkin/Botkin b. about 1825 who is from Clark County,OH late 1840's and by 1860 in Warren County, IA. She marries Adam Shook and lives near Warren County and Marion County, IA boder until her death in 1904 (mostly Swan area). I don't know her parents- she is theorized to be daughter of Richard Botkin from proximity of his kids to her in OH and IA. Have you seen James' will? Does it name children? Richard has a son James but he stays in OH and is alive in through at least 1860 Clinton County, OH.
