Error on my part, Catharine Bodkin and Tarleton Jones Taylor came to TX about 1867, not 1767. Catharine brought a string of horses to what was called "Kentucky Town" in Grayston Co. (N. Texas). She died 1880 in Missouri where she had gone to visit or live with her younger daughter.
In 1974 I published a book about this Taylor and Bodkin family; however, some of the stated facts have proved to be erroneous. For instance, Grandmother had said Wm. Sr. was in the Revolutionary war at the Battle of Bunker Hill. It turned out that his father was in the Corn Stalk Militia. My E-mail address is and I live in Grand Prairie, TX, what about you?
