Hello Joseph ~

I do not have an exact date for Thomas or George Bodmer. Last August we attended a Bodmer Family Reunion in Leesburg, with our remaining Bodmer relatives. I took a copy of my family tree that I compiled and gave to all that attended. The elder Bodmer's were able to give me some additional information; however, I do not have any dates associated with George or Thomas other than the dates of Thomas' children. My Grandmother, Pauline Hutchison Bodmer, born July 13, 1905, was the first child born to Thomas Edward Bodmer, Sr. and Effie Mae Hutchison Bodmer. Grandmother was born in the Historic Stone House, Manassas, Virginia. According to Grandmother, Thomas Bodmer, Sr. owned and operated a Post Office in the early 1900's in or near Aldie, VA.

At the family reunion, the following names were given to me; however no dates available at this time:

George Bodmer, Sr. married Margaret and had the following children:
George Bodmer, Jr. - Never married;
Thomas Edward Bodmer, Sr. (my G-grandfather);
Robert "Bob" L. Bodmer;
Frank Bodmer;
Mary Bodmer;
John Bodmer, b. May 14, 1905;
Lewis H. Bodmer, b. Aldie, VA.

According to Aurelia Botts Bodmer Bell, Yona Bodmer Brady, and Gelston Paxton "Bunky" Bodmer (all who attended the reunion in August 2000), George Bodmer, Jr. and Mary Bodmer (brother and sister) never married and lived together somewhere in Loudoun County, VA.

John Bodmer married Lillie Champ Hutchison.

Thomas Edward Bodmer, Sr. first married Effie Mae Hutchison (my great-grandparents); however Effie Mae died when my grandmother (Pauline Hutchison Bodmer) was about 14 years old...I believe from child birth, but not positive, as Baby Bodmer (no first name available) died at birth in 1918, when Grandmother (Pauline) was age 13. Anyway, Pauline helped her father Thomas raise the remaining children (Louis Augusta "Johnny" Bodmer; Evelyn Mae "Puddin" Bodmer; Thomas Edward "Dick" Bodmer, Jr.; Sue Virginia Bodmer; William "Billy" Page Bodmer; and George Bodmer, b. 1915 d. 1919 about 3-years old from falling off of a table top.

Shortly afterward, Thomas remarried to Henrietta Ann Moran. Thomas and Henrietta had three children: Aurelia Botts Bodmer, Yona Bodmer, and Gelston Paxton "Bunky" Bodmer...all three attended the Bodmer Reunion in August in Leesburg, VA.

Can you provide me with any more information on your Bodmer Family? There very well could be a connection.

Thank you for responding, and I look forward to hearing from you again in the near future.

Warm Regards,
Diane (Dailey) McDonough
