Marcie

Jacob BODMER/BODNER (it's spelled both ways in the records) according to the 1900 Platte County NE census was born in Switzerland in May 1826 and was married to his wife Caroline (born Sept. 1825, mother of five, four living at time of census) for 43 years (1857).

This Caroline is listed as a daughter in the obituary of my ancestress, Barbara SPOERRY. By other information I have, I believe Caroline's maiden name was HOEHEN. 1857 was the year that most of the SPOERRY family settled in Milwaukee, WI. I don't yet know if Jacob and Caroline were married in Switzerland or in Milwaukee. She is not listed with the rest of the family in the city directories of Milwaukee, but I was not looking for a BODMER/BODNER when I searched them 25 years ago! I've only been working with this family for 2-3 weeks now.

The Anna-Maria you mention is a SCHULZ by birth, step-daughter to Henry T. SPOERRY who was Caroline's half-brother. At least, that is how I have the records figured out right now!

E-mail me directly if you wish to persue this further.

Sheila
