I am interested in the fact that you knew to put the listing for your James Bame under the Boehm Genforum listing. My G-G-Grandmother was Anna Boehme Schmidt and my Grandmother always emphasized the fact that her grandmother's maiden name was pronounced "BAME", even though it was spelled Boehme. Where did your Bames come from? My Boehmes also came to the Midwest and Anna had a daughter named Sophia. They did not come to America until 1865, however, but I was interested in a little more about the details of the origins of your family. Mine came from "Prussia"--according to the census records.
