Saxony Germany Boehm
Hello,
Does anybody have any info on Boehm's from Saxony Germany going back into the 1700's, 1800's or anytime.
Does anybody know if the Master flutist Theobald Boehm from Germany, had any siblings or family members who were also musicians?
My Richard Boehm, came to America from Saxony Germany (Bavaria)and was also a Music Master of some kind. I do not know what musical instrument he played. He landed at Baltimore Maryland Harbor. I will have to look up the date of his landing again. Once in America, he changed his name to this spelling (Beem). As I understand, Theobald Boehm was a Court Musician for the Royal Court in Munich or Saxony. He is credited for modernizing the Baroque flute. My Richard Boehm came from the very same area and was also a Master Musician. Can anybody help me find information about this family? Thanks KBallard
