Don Boesch: I am researching Chase/Bradford/Custer lines from OH/PA area. Have you any connection to this line? Amelia Honey Chase is my great grandfather's half sister. My interest:" Although I didn't gain any information on the ancestry of Samuel or Rebecca, I did find out that my lead on Ellen Chase Bradford was in error. Ellen's last name was not Bradford. She is listed as "the granddaughter of Samuel Bradford and the daughter of George Chase". Further, George Chase was married to Amelia. Samuel must have been very close to Amelia Honey. He must even have considered her as his own daughter in order to merit that record on Ellen's burial. Amelia died in 1937 at the age of 92. Considering she was like family to Samuel, she may well be a woman that would appear in your photos. Samuel bought lot C108 in Riverside Cemetery in 1873 for $25. A Tempelton family now rests in half of that lot. Maybe they are descendants too. Samuel's cemetery records conflict with the information on the grave stone. The keeper made a special trip out to the grave when I questioned the record as he read it to me. According to that record, Samuel died May 1, 1894 from dropsy. His age is stated as 71 years, 7 months, and 7 days. Notify Administrator about this message?
