I was quite interested to see the title of your post. Are you aware that there is a Boggan-Hammond House museum in Wadesboro, NC? According to the Anson County Historical Society web site, it was built by Captain Patrick Boggan who gave the land for the town of Wadesborough (as it was originally spelled), and he built the house for his daughter Elizabeth who married William Boggan. I imagine this would be your Nellie.
I visited Wadesboro in 2004, and went on a museum tour there. It is a small town, but there are FIVE museums there, all in walking distance: the Boggan Hammond House, and the Alexander Little wing, (While they call it a "wing," this is really a bigger house, built in front of the Boggan-Hammond house by a later owner of the property). There is a medical museum which is in an old doctor's office, and two small museums, one containing a lot of farming implements and Indian artifacts, and another with stuff from the local high school. Then you go to the Arts Council building which has a lot of art work by local artists.
The tour was conducted by a man named Steve Bailey, who knows just about everything there is to know about the history of Anson County. He is a professional genealogist, and you ought to get in touch with him. I am sure he can tell you a great deal.
The web site for the Anson County Historical Society is:

And Steve Bailey's web site is:

Hope this helps.
