Thanks for the follow-up, Jim. I am particularly interested in how and whether your Bohan family descends from the one giving rise to John Bohan of Templetouhy, born 1825, married to Mary Hickey of Templemore in 1848, and departed for America 1852. His father's name was Patrick. I don't believe I mentioned in my last message that we had a Bohan family reunion in Templemore on August 11(20 days ago). My great=grandmoterh was Anastasia Russell of Templetouhy and my grgrandfather, her husband, Michael Bohan of Templemore. At the reunion we had from America descendants of that couple and also of the abovementioned John Bohan of Templetouhy. We have not yet been able to connect the two branches.
My understanding is that the ancient Bohan family lived in Kilduff, on the slopes of the Devil's Bit, and spread out in North Tipperary from there. Do you have in your family tradition the legend that the family originally came over during the Norman Invasion of England and then of Ireland?-Tom
