My Grt-grt-grandfather, Daniel Bohnert was from Baden but I have been told by a present day German Bohnert, that there are many many Bohnerts in Baden, still to this day and that there once was a hamlet called "Bohnerthofe" (translated "large bean farm", since "Bohnert" means "bean grower." Bohnerthofe no longer exists, I have been told, due to severe damage in one of the World Wars. My Daniel was born in Baden in 1806 and came to the U.S. in 1841, a few generation before your Frederick, I know, but thought you might like to know the little bits of information that I do know about Baden and the Bohnerts there. I'd like to travel someday to try & find the old Bohnerthofe, near the Black Forest.
