My great grandmother, Emma Koenig's mother was Hermenia Bohnert. Hermenia was born in Germany in 1841. She married Edward Koenig, from Saxony. Emma said she was from Stuttgart, but Stuttgart has no record of her. Maybe she was from one of the towns around Stuttgart. I don't know where in Germany Hermenia was born. Hermenia's name has been spelled Herminia and Hermine, with a middle initial of P., and her last name as Borhnert and Ponert. I believe she was already married to Edward when they came to the US. Edward arrived New York in 1881, went to Connecticut, then settled in Rhode Island, from around 1886. There are connections to Thierfelder and Zuleger.
Hopefully, someone out there has information. Thanks, Kathy Hughes
