I believe that one of the first generation Bohnerts born in Perry County, Missouri was named Ferdinand Bohnert. The first American born Bohnert in my line was also named Ferdinand, born in Lexwan, PA in 1841. I am wondering if these two Ferdinands shared a common grandfather in Germany for whom they were named. I wrote you before asking if my line was linked to yours: Daniel Bohnert born June 17, 1806 in Baden, Germany, married Mary (Maria) in Germany; moved to the U.S. where Ferdinand was born in 1841 in PA; Daniel, Jr. was born in New York in 1846; Mary was born in New York in 1848; Anna was born in New York in 1850. Daniel, Sr. worked in New York as a shoemaker until he bought a farm and moved his family to Pleasant Plains, Sangamon County, Illinois. Do you think there could be a connection to the Perry County Bohnerts? Are they also from Baden, Germany?
