Hi,
I was wondering if anyone else had heard the rumor that some of the Indian Bloodlines was from the Shoshowne Indians?
PER MY GRANDMOTHER, LAURA ELENORE IVERS GILPIN,3-20-1898-WE ALSO HAVE SCOTCH AND IRISH FROM ANNA ELIZA (LYDIA'S) SIDE. I REMEMBER MY GRANDMOTHER VERY WELL, SHE DIED WHEN I WAS 21.WE USED TO TALK LONG HOURS, AND SHE TOOK ME TO THE CEMETARIES, AND TOLD ME OF HER FAMILY.
When I was young, my grandmother told me, we were from the Shoshowne Indians. She said thier was an Indian Agent, that married into the Indian Blood, and she never knew where tho.
This week, I found this on Ancestry.com, and I know thier was a Nettee/Nettie in Ellen Boldmans family.Could this be part of the big mystery?
The census is 1880, on the Shoshowne Bannock Indian Agency, Wyoming. it reads as follows
60 60 WATTS, PETER W M 40 SCOTTLAND SCOTTLAND SCOTTLAND
WATTS, ANNA E W F 35 WIFE NJ ENGLAND NJ
WATTS,NETTIE A W F 13 DAUGH MO SCOTTLAND NJ
