The first Bolster in America was Isaac Bolster and is on record in 1715.He came from Somerset and fought in the Monmouth Rebellian in 1685.He was convicted of treason against King James and sentanced to 10 years hard labor and transported to Jamaica. There were many Bolsters in the West Country of England -- Devon, Dorset and Somerset before the rebellion. After 1685 they all disappeared and we suspect that most of them moved to Ireland. How early are they on record in Ireland.
