I live in Jefferson County, WV and have the last name Pulse. I have always been told that our ancestors name was Boltz, and within walking distance of my home is a cemetery that has the graves of many Boltzs and Frys.Theese graves include many of the names that I have been reading in these posts. The grave markers are from the 1700's and 1800's. Here is my dilema. My last name is spelled Pulse,as is my fathers, however, in the Jefferson County Courthouse on my grandfather's birth record it lists his father's name as Charles PULTZ? I have tried to trace the family tree and can find several Charles Pulse/Pultz. Without any birthdate or death date, how do I know which Charles is the right one? I have heard that my Charles was killed in a train accident. Have you ever heard of anything like that? Also, I have been told about this Boltz book before, but told there were no longer in Pulse's in Jefferson County. LOL Well, there are several of us. One last confusing detail. Everything I have been reading on the net says the Boltzs came from Germany, but a very elderly lady in the community insists that our ancestors were Dutch. I'm lost. Would you please send me the info on ordering this Boltz book, and if you would like any information from these tombstones I mentioned earlier, I would be glad to get it for you. The smaller cemetery is locally referred to as the old "Union" cemetery, but just up the road is another larger cemetery that also has some Boltzs and Pulses.
