Searching for decendants of John Bonecutter born in Ohio abt 1844. Who may have information about this family.
John Bonecutter was the son of George and Nancy Conor Bonecutter. Nancy was a widow living in Franklin Co Ohio on the 1850 census. The family is listed on the 1860 Jay Co Indiana census. Eliza J (Elizabeth?) married Leander Finch in Jay Co in 1861, John served during the Civil War. Matilda married Felix Ryan in Jay Co IN. in 1861.
John age 36 is listed on the Tipton Co IN. Census of 1880. With wife Margaret age 29, son Jackson age 12 born IN and Mary daughter age 9 born IN.
Felix Ryan died in 1862 at Knoxville, TN during the Civil War. Matilda Bonecutter Ryan died in 1864 and Leander Finch was appointed guardin of their minor son William L Ryan. William's grandmother Nancy Bonecutter was paid for his room and board from the estate.
Nancy Bonecutter married William Law in 1879 in Tipton Co IN.
