James W. Boner

Hello all, this info was just sent to me from another forum.

Could there be anyone who knows of this group?
The James W Boner is my great grandfather. We see in the 1880 census that he is no longer living at home. He married (Cecelia Tysen according to our records) and his children, Albert Stewart and Elizabeth, were put in the York Co. PA Childrens home in 1885. We believe James W died in 1899, but do not know what happened to Cecelia. She may have died, thus precipitating the orphanage to look after the children. My grandfather was placed on a farm owned by Kiefaver in Gettysburg, and turned out at 18. He had never known his real name so he took the name of Allen Franklin Boner because he had heard there was a "Franklin" in the family and it might be him. He took April 1, 1883 as his birthdate.

My father wrote of a family reunion about 1913 where there was an Uncle Mannie and an Aunt Rose. Mannie was probably Emanuel. He also spoke of Aunt Ella, who was probably Ellen.

There is also a reference by the Orphanage to a cousin named Riggins, possibly Rebecca Riggins.
