Lydia Bonge (Bongey) was the daughter of Henry Bonge a brother of my great great grandfather Jacob and son of Frederic Bonge and Catherine Wilt. Henry was born in 1804 in York Borrough, York Co. PA and died in Dec of 1881 in Hartford City blackford, Indiana. Henry married Sarah Mindenhall (Mendenall) daughter of Isaac Mendenall and Lydiann born in England in 1813. in the 1st Moravian Church of York,PA She died in January 1900.
Children George 1833, Clementine 1835, Daniel 1837, Frederick 1839 (who named his daughter Lydia, Sarah 1843 ,Lydia 1846,Penrode 1850 and William 1853.Two other children died in early childhood
Henry was baptized in Christ Luteran Church of York PA. In the PA 1850 census hi is listed as a shoemaker (name spelled Bunge)In a later reference his occupation said Manufactured Cigars -Democrat- In 1869 he moved to Miamisburg, Montgomery Co Ohio and in 1870 to Blackford Co. Indiana.
