Hi, my name is Elden Cunanan Bonilla. My mom's from Pampanga and my dad, Roberto Ocuma Bonilla is from Capiz. My dad's father is Pedro Bonilla, who's from Pilar, a town in Capiz where all the Bonilla's I know traced their roots there coz my grandfather is one of only 11 siblings. As far as I remember, Bonilla's are scattered all over the Philippines because I have attended a Bonilla Reunion somewhere in Antel Condominium along Roxas Blvd in Manila. Actually, the Bonilla's who attended the reunion came from as far north as Ilocos, Zambales, Pampanga, Tondo, Quezon Province, Laguna, Batangas, Iloilo, Capiz, Samar, Surigao, Butuan City and as far south as Cotabato, esp. from General Santos City. There were also Bonilla's who came all the way from abroad. During that affair, I was amused and amazed as well that Bonilla's are found everywhere. Well, for instance, our clan from Pilar, Capiz hosts reunion every 2 years on our clan's beach resort and it would happen again sometime on May next year, 2009. Last year, I attended the reunion and much to my surprise, we were like 700+ then. Relatives from the places I have mentioned above have also attended or sent their representatives to join that memorable event. Hope we might be able to trace our roots, who knows we might be relatives! Hehehe! Good luck to all of us!
