Hello, fellow Bonillas! I am Raymond P. Bonilla, presently living in Palawan, Philippines. Third son among a brood of seven (bugtong ang babae, our fifth sibling) of Pepito Dongon Bonilla and Asuncion Pampliega Bonilla. My father was born in Leganes, Iloilo and grew up in a number of places in Iloilo province with his 3 brothers and 3 sisters (he's the first-born). His father, Anacleto Catipun Bonilla decided to pull out the family from Iloilo and transferred to Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental. My pop met my mother there and begot us. Anacleto Catipun Bonilla was from Cabuyao (Laguna) and Silang (Cavite) line of the Bonillas. Through the years i have met Bonilla descendants from all over the Philippines; from Butuan, Cebu, Guimaras, Pangasinan and others. I've even called a Bonilla in Sultan Kudarat. I even have a namesake (another Raymond Bonilla) somewhere in Davao, this according to Tio Jun Bonilla (of the Guimaras line). A few years back i saw a sign post in Brgy. Tagumpay, Puerto Princesa City, Palawan listing an Ireneo Bonilla as the Brgy. Chairman. We, in Negros are somehow familiar with the Pilar, Capiz Bonillas as a member, Felipe A. Bonilla a son of Rizaldo Bonilla, from there married a younger sis of my mother. The Carbonels of Cebu are from this line. My father has half-siblings in Cabuyao, Laguna and in Bicol. Back in the mid-90s, i had met cousins in Cabuyao and Silang and heard of reunions we unfortunately could not attend. May be with this forum we could try and start a "get-to-know-each-other" thing and construct a clan tree if it is possible. Good day mga primos at mga primas!
