From Louis Lopez Sr. who apparently did not tell his wife or family he had a first wife & family in Texas. My grandmothers name is Gregoria Cortez, born May 9, 1929. (94 today) married Luis Lopez, Jr (son of LOUIS LOPEZ, Sr. from San Luis Potosi, MEXICO who left my grandfather's mother with two kids- Luis {my grandpa} & Maria. He was known to of remarried, & had more children in SLP, MX & we happen to believe they were unaware of his first family. They had a joyeria there years ago early 1900's. Luis Lopez, Jr & Gregoria Cortez have 18 children who most live in West Texas-Lubbock/Abernathy Texas. Most by the last name of Lopez. Gregoria Cortez had a brother Andres Cortez and a sister Sebina. The Andres Cortez family reside in this small town of Abernathy also. Sebina Cortez remarried & passed away in Ramondville, Tx. Andres Cortez passed in Abernathy Tx. They knew their parents name = Segundino Cortez who married NIEVES BONILLA. We don't know much about her family. My grandmother didn't know her. Segundino was killed in a hit & run accident in Ramondville Tx. NIEVES BONILLA passed away sometime in 1930's, shortly after my grandmother Gregoria Cortez was born. We don't know her parents or if she had any brothers or sisters cousins, etc. My grandmother talks about her parents Segundino Cortez & NIEVES BONILLA from stories she heard as an orphan. Her brother Andres Cortez took care of the two girls. They were all very yooung & she has gone to their graves in Ramondville Tx many times to visit them. I want to give her a gift of finding more of her family & ancestors even those still alive. If anyone has any info on any, please contact me ASAP. Grandma is still alive & a very healthy woman with 18 kids of her own & close to 200 grandchildren and great grand children.
