I think there is a connection between your information and mine. I have information as follows:
James Bonnyman [Chelsea Pensioner]
m. to Helen Rannie [Christened 20/7/1789 at Cullen, Banff, Scotland]
Their children all born at Bellie in Morayshire which is I think v. close to Fochabers:
Janet [b.28/1/1821]; Alexander [b.7/8/1822][your G grandfather ?]; Adam Gordon [b. 20/6/1824]; James [b.14/5/1826]; Helen [b.17/5/1828]; William [b. 15/2/1831]; John [b.19/2/1834].
John Bonnyman married Elizabeth Macintyre [b.27/6/1831 I think Elgin] in 1855 in Elgin.
They had 4 children - James [b.1855];Isabella [b.20/4/1857]; Alexander [b.30/5/1859]; and Robert [b. 7/12/1861].
Elizabeth Macintyre died in 1881.
John Bonnyman married in 1886 my g.grandmother Anne Sim, who was the mother of my grandfather - William [b. 2/6/1885 - Elgin].
In the 1891 census I can only find John and Anne Bonnyman and Robert Bonnyman in Elgin. Isabella is there and married, because she turns up later as a witness to my g.grandmother's death certificate. Can't find Alexander and James. Keep in touch. I would be interested to know if the connections stand up. Is Alexander [b1822] your g.grandfather ?

Regards Ruth
